WHY MABEL & SWITCH?
Science fiction for all ages!
One Day Studios wanted to create a project that students across all disciplines, skills, and interests could work on - and what better than a TV pilot with an endless amount of jobs?

Not only did we want to just create a project, we wanted something that could be shared worldwide, be put into portfolios and resumes, and expand the horizons and skills of our students and members. As well as a team of expert grown-ups, we had kids as young as 14 working in areas like costume design, illustration, sound composition, props, model-making, coding, puppet-making, and more.

Science fiction as a genre lends itself to weird and wonderful creations, which is why we thought a science fiction tv show would fit the bill perfectly. It would allow our students to unleash their creativity to design costumes and characters.

KICKSTARTER
GOTTA GET THAT BAG!
We ran a successful Kickstarter in May 2022 to secure funding for what we hoped would be 3 episodes - we quickly found out how expensive episodes can be, so we ended up making a single episode, titled temporarily 'Pilot', or 'The Reset' in the grand scheme of things.

Rewards included exclusive hoodies, t-shirts, stickers, art prints, even original sketches and models of our characters.

We ended up raising approximately $17,000 thanks to our wonderful supporters and fans!
​
We'd already secured our Mabel before the Kickstarter begun, but we were excited to see what other awesome young cast members would come our way once we started!

WHAT NOW?
where to from here
We're currently seeking funding to create more episodes of Season 1 of Mabel & Switch! We've taken Mabel & Switch around South West Victoria to visit schools and the response and feedback has been overwhelmingly good. We would love to be able to continue Mabel's adventure, bring in more young creatives to work on the project, and give them a platform to showcase their skills and enthusiasm.
